The Right Room

Individual Counselling

Individual Counselling

Therapy that makes room for the whole person.

One-on-one counselling for adults who want a therapist who can bring structure when it helps, depth when it matters, and a real relationship throughout.

You do not need to arrive with a perfectly defined problem or a diagnosis. Individual counselling can be a place to understand what is happening, work through what feels stuck, build practical skills, make difficult decisions, or simply have somewhere you do not need to edit yourself before speaking.

What It Feels Like

Clinical enough to be useful. Human enough to feel real.

Therapy with me is collaborative. Some concerns benefit from a clear plan, psychoeducation, tracking, or skills practice. Others need more room to talk, make meaning, notice patterns, and hear yourself think. We can adjust the level of structure to what you actually need.

Collaborative

I bring clinical knowledge, questions, observations, and tools. You bring the lived experience of being you. Treatment is something we build together rather than something done to you.

Flexible

We can be highly structured when structure is useful and more exploratory when it is not. You do not need every session to produce a worksheet, homework assignment, or measurable breakthrough.

Relational

I am not a blank-slate therapist. I show up as a real person, offer honest reflections, use humour when it fits, and pay attention to the relationship we are building in the room.

What You Can Bring Here

You do not need to fit neatly into one box.

People rarely arrive with only one thing happening. We can work with the intersections between diagnosis, identity, relationships, work, burnout, emotions, history, and the practical realities of your life.

  • Neurodivergence and adult diagnosis Including ADHD, autism, masking, late diagnosis, identity, and learning what support actually fits.
  • Mood and emotional intensity Including bipolar disorder, depression, emotional dysregulation, BPD, anxiety, and patterns that feel difficult to understand or manage.
  • Stress, burnout, and overfunctioning For people who are used to being capable, responsible, and relied upon, but are increasingly running out of room for themselves.
  • Relationships and recurring patterns Boundaries, conflict, rejection sensitivity, people-pleasing, attachment injuries, communication, and understanding how you show up with other people.
  • Life transitions and identity Career changes, endings, beginnings, grief, difficult decisions, changing roles, and periods where the life you built no longer feels quite like yours.
  • Something harder to name You are also allowed to come to therapy because something feels off, heavy, confusing, or unsustainable even if you do not yet have language for it.

How It Works

A simple way to begin.

You do not need to commit to a long treatment plan before we have even met. We begin by seeing whether the relationship and approach feel like a good fit.

01

No-cost consultation

We meet for 15 minutes to talk briefly about what brings you in, what you are looking for, and whether my approach seems aligned with what you need.

02

Your first full session

We spend time understanding your context, history, strengths, current concerns, and what you hope will be different. You do not need to arrive with perfectly formed goals.

03

We find the right rhythm

Sessions may be weekly, biweekly, or more periodic depending on your needs. We can adjust the pace, focus, and level of structure as the work evolves.

Ready When You Are

The no-cost consultation is a simple first conversation. You can tell me what has been happening, ask questions about how I work, and decide whether this feels like the right room for the work you want to do.
